De vaantjescompetitie is ’n initiatief om jeugdige leden bekend te maken met wedstrijdonderdelen van Taekwondo. De competitie wordt op een leuke kleinschalige en sportieve manier opgezet, twee keer per jaar. Alleen leden tot en met 13 jaar van uitgenodigde clubs en van Zuid-Oost kunnen deelnemen aan de competitie. De onderdelen Er zijn 3 soorten onderdelen: sparring, stijl en het afleggen van een parcours. De kinderen verzamelen op deze dagen punten door het draaien van wedstrijden en door het lopen van stijlvormen. Bij het afleggen van het parcours moet men een aantal breektesten en een kussentraining uitvoeren met verplichte trap- en stoottechnieken. Alle deelnemers worden beloond Er worden altijd punten toegekend, dat betekent dat alle kinderen beloond worden voor hun inzet. Aan het einde van de competitiedag ontvangt elke deelnemer een oorkonde en bij voldoende behaalde punten een vaantje dat correspondeert met een bandkleur. Deelname aan deze competitiedagen levert een grote bijdrage aan de voorbereidingen voor de bandexamens. Bovendien is het gewoon erg leuk! Iedereen moet voorzien zijn van eigen uitrusting, pantser, hoofd-, arm-, scheenbeschermers, kruisbeschermer en mondbescherming (bitje).
